Each retreat session will begin with extended, intimate worship sets by Encounter Worship.

Worship can be described as the valuing of God and the outward expression of loving Him above all things. Here at Encounter, one way we value and treasure God is by worshiping him in song and music free of a performance mentality with a child-like joy.

7:30 pmTheme - Seeds of Revival

Where does revival come from? Stadiums have filled and revival hasn’t come.Jesus has been declared Lord, but revival hasn’t come. This message tackles the heart of revival and looks to common elements of great revivals in the past. Revival comes from God, and those wholly given over to Him. The missionary heart is the seed of revival–those who are desperate for God and totally dead to self. The seeds of revival are more than a tickle, more than a consumer-based charismatic spirituality, they are the grains of wheat who have fallen to the ground and died. You are the seed of revival, and revival won’t come, unless you die.

Retreat Day (Registration Required)

9:30 amRegistration & Check-in

10:00 amSession 1: Communal Repentance

“‘Even now’ declares the Lord, ‘return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.’ Rend your heart, and not your garments.” (Joel 2:12)

Joel 2 repentance leads to Acts 2 outpouring. Repentance is a matter of the heart and a community that deeply desires a move of God returns to Lord and declares Him sovereign and Lord of all. Repentance is the foundation for revival.

12:30 pmLunch Break

2:00 pmSession 2: Communal Outcry

“People of Zion, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you!” (Isaiah 30:19)

The Lord’s heart is moved into action when he hearts his people cry out to him. There is power in the “people of Zion” crying out together with one voice, for the Lord declares, “if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”

4:45 pmDinner Break

5:00 pmOptional Vigil Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Parish

711 Rickett Road, Brighton, Michigan 48116

6:15 pmSession 3: Missionary Impulse

“When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.” (Matthew 14:14)

When the Glory of God comes upon his people, they are mobilized into action. Zeal for His house consumes them and they are led by the Spirit to be missionaries and martyrs. The rain falls upon the land and the laborers go out to reap the harvest!
